Srushti has begun preparing for her UPSC exam in her third-year of studying engineering. During her graduation she was unsure if she could be happy in the engineering role. Eventually, she realised that civil engineering was her love and focused on this field. Her parents encouraged her to go into civil service, and to pursue an opportunity to work in public service. Her motivation was to be an IAS officer and was focused to achieve that goal. To be eligible for UPSC the candidate must put in more work. She would prepare for UPSC subjects while she studied her engineering. She set aside time for test preparation daily. She prepared for the exams for engineers in less than one and a half months and avoided social life as well as social media altogether. She believes that focusing is essential to crack the exam of government and becoming an official in the civil service. She put in a lot of effort to reach her dream to pass the test on her first try. She used to read newspapers to stay up-to-date with current affairs every day. Online, she collected various study materials as well as watched Rajya Sabha TV.
